Description
A oil painting inspired by a visit to Mottisfont Gardens, which has evolved over the course of this summer. Iris have a special place in flower meanings, and she is the flower of the Goddess Iris, The Seer, who was seen as a messenger of God and the link between heaven and earth. The Yellow Iris represents deep friendships and commitments, joy, happiness, new beginnings and new ventures. The purple brings in a feeling of wisdom, a regal quality. It was hard to choose a name for this painting, but when we are gifted close and special friendships, they are a real treasure. That is the sense I have when spending time with this painting.
