Description

The first in a series exploring the ancient Yew Trees in a nearby Yew Wood. These Yew trees were probably growing when the Normans invaded our shores, they are so ancient. Over time the Yew trees split, spread, grow into the ground, and their branches reappear, snaking across the woods. The largest tree measures 160 metres! How to convey the majesty and mystery of these special tree beings? That is my challenge over the coming months. Oil on box canvas, 50 x 60 cms, and ready to hang.
