Certain places have such a powerful effect on me that I return to them time and time again. The Stonehenge landscape is such a place, especially the King’s Barrows area, with it’s silent, sleeping mounds enclosing the ancestors guarded by these majestic beech trees. For this piece I have chosen predominantly golds and red violets with touches of turquoise; these colours evoked for me the winter mood and the energy I experienced. Standing looking at this view Stonehenge itself is off to the left in the distance and the Avenue crossing is straight ahead. I hope you enjoy this piece.
