Description
THE MOMENTS BEFORE – This piece was inspired by an amazing fashion show and is part of my new Emergence Series. The WOW fashion event showed pieces made from charity shop finds and recycled materials – bubble wrap; newspaper; milk bottle plastic tops; plastic parcel wrappings; foils etc. The models were local women, who for that moment in time became transformed into performance artists; into artistic creations themselves.
The canvas itself was recycled from an earlier painting, and transformed into a new more exciting piece, with parts of the original painting showing through and becoming important components of the finished piece. So emergence, transformation, recycling, re-creation, ourselves as artistic expression – a constant movement. But here The moments before, the stage is set.
