Sometimes in our lives we reach a low point – poor health, low energy, and inspiration and enthusiasm appear to have disappeared.
This happened to me last year and I decided to just allow space and time, to be still and reflective, and to see what would come in to that space.
I realised that running an art business was taking me away from what I really wanted to do, and that is to Paint! All the joy had disappeared, along with inspiration and enthusiasm.
What I really really wanted to paint were Flowers – Big flowers, gardens of flowers, abstracted flowers, realistic flowers – However they came. This realisation has led me on a journey this year of studying with several different floral artists; experimenting, playing, and seeing how their experiences translate into my way of working.
So far this has been a most enjoyable time, and painting flowers has made me feel very happy. I hope that as I add new images to the website for this year, you will enjoy these too.
